2年ぶりとなる3rdアルバム「夜に交じる人たち」がOaikoよりリリース。

今作は「無敵の人」を主人公として据えたコンセプトアルバムとなっており、M1「放銃」を起点とする本作のトラックリストは、主人公が人との社会的な繋がりから逃げ回り過去を振り返っていく… といったストーリー仕立ての内容となっている。

J-POPに対する敬愛を前面に押し出した親しみのあるメロディ、一方で各楽器の音を前面に立たせた編曲の振れ幅がcolormalの持ち味であったが、今作ではそれが今まで以上に広げられた。
既にライブでも話題となっているM2「獣たち」では合唱のようなコーラスパートからなだれ込むようにテンポチェンジを行ったかと思いきや、M7「wrong song」ではどこか懐かしいメロディをもとに牧歌的な郷愁を歌い上げる。ともすれば一貫性のない楽曲群を確固たるバンドのシグネチャーに押し上げる演奏力も含めて、充実した内容の作品となっている。

Two years after their previous release, colormal presents their third album, Yoru ni Majiru Hitotachi (People Mixed into the Night), released via Oaiko.

This album is a concept work centered around the “Invincible Person” as its protagonist. The tracklist, beginning with M1 Hōjū, follows a story in which the protagonist flees from social connections and gradually reflects on their past.

Colormal has long been known for their signature blend of approachable melodies that openly show reverence for J-POP, alongside arrangements that highlight each instrument. On this album, that range has expanded even further. Already gaining attention in live performances, M2 Kemono-tachi features a tempo change that flows naturally from choir-like vocal parts, while M7 wrong song evokes a pastoral nostalgia through its subtly familiar melodies. The album demonstrates not only musical consistency but also the band’s performance skills, turning a potentially disparate collection of songs into a cohesive and fulfilling work.
